40 Years – A Familiar Place in De Koog

In March 1986, Marijke and Nico Ruis started Camping Coogherveld at the Kamperfoelieweg in De Koog.
Before that, the campsite was known as De Luwe Boshoek 2.
The site included static caravans and camping pitches, as well as a reception building and a small playground.

During the 1990s, many renovations took place at Coogherveld. Old static caravans were replaced by chalets with modern facilities and connected to natural gas. The camping pitches and shower buildings disappeared, making room for a large playground with a jeu de boules court.

In 2006, colourful new playground equipment was installed on the campsite. An activity tent was also added, where various activities were organised during the summer.
During the summer holidays, children could enjoy fun activities such as a bouncy castle and face painting.
In 2009, our lovely golden retriever Nicka came to live on the campsite and quickly became a familiar face for many guests.

In 2014, Coogherveld took over Camping Dekkerskoog.
A year later, in 2015, the static caravans around the playground were replaced with new blue chalets.
Playing with a real fire hose provided lots of water fun during the summer of 2016.
In 2018, the De Luwe Boshoek campsite became part of Coogherveld. The reception moved to a new location, camping became possible again and the offer was expanded with fully equipped tents.

In the following years, two additional lodges were added to the rental offer. In the winter of 2022, the playground received a major makeover, with new play equipment and a covered area with an activity space.
During the wintermonths 2024 -2025, 13 chalets of type 1 were replaced.
